The Grid Resistance
consists of helix of an edge wound resistance strip mounted on porcelain
insulators which are located on a steel support acting also as mounting.
Maximum surface area of
resistance material is exposed to the cooling air to give high thermal
capacity and excellent ventilation. This enables ratings to be
considerably increased where the loading is intermittent and of short
duration.
The simplicity of
design makes multiple assemblies into a bank possible. |
